Zochrot ("Remembering" / Wir erinnern) seeks to raise
public awareness of the Palestinian Nakba, especially among Jews in
Israel, who bear a special responsibility to remember and amend the
legacy of 1948.
principal victims of the Nakba were the Palestinians, especially the
refugees, who lost their entire world.
But Jews in Israel also pay a price for their conquest of the land in
1948, living in constant fear and without hope.
The Nakba destroyed the fabric of relations that existed between
Jews and Palestinians before 1948. In recognizing and materializing the
lies the possibility for Jews and Palestinians to live in this
country together. >
B'TSELEM (in Hebrew literally means
"in the image of," and is also used as a synonym for human dignity)The
Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories
was established in February 1989 by a group of prominent academics,
attorneys, journalists, and Knesset members. It endeavors to document
and educate the Israeli public and policymakers about human rights
violations in the Occupied Territories, combat the phenomenon of denial
prevalent among the Israeli public, and help create a human rights
culture in Israel.
is a non-violent, direct-action group originally established
to oppose and resist Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses in the
Occupied Territory. As our activists gained direct
knowledge of the brutalities of the Occupation, we expanded our
resistance activities to other areas – land expropriation, settlement
expansion, by-pass road construction, policies of “closure” and “separation,”
the wholesale uprooting of fruit and olive trees and more. The fierce
repression of Palestinian efforts to “shake off” the Occupation
following the second Intifada has only added urgency to our efforts.
direct-action group, ICAHD is comprised of Israeli peace and human
rights activists. All of our work in the Occupied Territories is closely
coordinated with local Palestinian organizations.

Rabbis for Human
Founded in 1988, Rabbis
for Human Rights is the only rabbinic voice in Israel that is explicitly
dedicated to human rights. Representing over 100 Israeli rabbis and
rabbinical students from different streams of Judaism, we derive our
authority from our Jewish tradition and the Universal Declaration of
Olive Tree Campaign:
RHR works year round with Palestinian farmers from several dozen
villages in the Occupied Territories, to ensure that they can regularly
access their agricultural lands, often denied to them because of their
proximity to Israeli settlements. We negotiate and coordinate with the
army to ensure the High Court mandate military protection during the
olive harvest, and to ensure access to lands when denied...
RHR works to legally prevent or
reverse the takeover of Palestinian lands in Area C, and ensure that
Palestinian farmers can safely access those lands. We started working in
villages in the South Hebron Hills, and we have recently expanded to the
villages around Bethlehem as well as to a few villages in the Northern
West Bank... >
"New Profile" is a group
of feminist women and men, who are convinced that we need not live in a
soldiers’ state. Today, Israel is capable of a determined peace politics.
It need not be a militarized society. We are convinced that we ourselves,
our children, our partners, need not go on being endlessly mobilized,
need not go on living as warriors.
